Warhammer 40k Strike Force Tournament

Bring 2000 Battle-Forged points of your Warhammer 40k army to HobbyTown Lincoln on Saturday, August 27th, to compete in a Strike Force Tournament!

Entry is $10, and will go towards prizes awarded as HobbyTown Gift Cards to top players based on attendance.  This one-day event will run for 3 games, with play starting at 11am and ending by 8pm.  Registration is at 10:30am, so be here and be ready!  Due to space constraints, this event will be limited to the first 14 players.  Save your spot by pre-registering early <here>!

This event will  be run based on the ITC guidelines and code of conduct, using Strike Force missions 22, 32, and 33 from the War Zone Nephilim Mission Pack and Secondary Objectives.

ITC guidelines can be found at Frontline Gaming’s website (click the image above)

Games will be limited to 2.5 hours, and we will not be using chess clocks at this event.  When time is called, the turn ends immediately at that point.

Scoring will be Swiss Points, followed by Battle Points and Strength of Schedules for tiebreakers

To maximize gameplay time, tables will have terrain layouts set up by the TO before the tournament, and missions will be predetermined.

We will be using the Best Coast Pairings system (www.bestcoastpairings.com), and army lists can be easily built and exported for free using Battlescribe

Players will need to download the Best Coast Player app and create a free account to upload army lists and results.  There will be a limited number of devices with the app pre-installed available for loan at the event.  Check out a quick guide here:

Pre-Register Now!

For the August 27th event, HobbyTown will be providing terrain set up based on the WTC 2022 Table 5 layout , and we will be playing Strike Force missions 22, 32, and 33 from the Games Workshop’s War Zone Nephilim: Grand Tournament: Conversion, Death and Zeal, and Secure Missing Artefacts.

Forests will have movable “trees”, so they do not impede movement other than the 2″ Difficult Ground reduction. The L-shaped ruins have open, non-walled areas which can be driven/moved over, and all gaps between walled terrain pieces are at least 4″ (the width of the narrow part of a large knight’s base).  To facilitate even larger models like Baneblades, we will be trying out a ‘squeeze through’ rule: If the model has enough movement available to end up wholly past the 4″ gap between walls, it can ‘squeeze through’ so long as it ends up in a legal position.

This event will include ITC points, so while the atmosphere is still focused on fun and friendly competition, rules are a bit more stringent.  Though Battle-Ready will not be required, bringing a battle-ready (painted and based) army is still worth 10 Victory Points, so it’s highly recommended!

HobbyTown will also be providing reminder cards for the updated Universal Secondary Objectives!
